Field Operator I

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Field Operator I in the Oil and Gas Sector in Cold lake, Alberta. The field Operations Specialist provides technical expertise and support to ensure the safe and effective operation and maintenance of producing and steaming oil wells including all related facilities. The primary area of responsibility is both surface and subsurface equipment including artificial lift optimization, venting, and well servicing intervention for maintenance, casing integrity and workovers. Also included is the maintenance of the surface facilities including on pad equipment and related production and steam pipelines. Total rewards:- $45.00 hourly
- One year contract position
- 14 days on / 14 days off
A typical day:- Core responsibilities include well production monitoring (fluid production, vent gas optimization, fill base management, well servicing intervention), wellbore readiness for steam injection (casing integrity check management) and wellbore associated high priority alarm follow-up (DFP, N2 Soak, Passive seismic and casing pressure).
- Scoping, planning and ensuring flawless execution of all maintenance activities, working as one team with the maintenance department to minimize production impacts. Follow and manage WMS, MOC and Maintenance process as they pertain to work being executed.
- Candidates must have attained field career level and be at or near a subject matter expert level in field operations. Candidates must have strong technical understanding of field subsurface equipment, well performance, well testing, steam distribution, injection, surface facilites and troubleshooting capabilities in all aspects of same.
- Basic knowledge of well servicing activities and have an understanding of the Subsurface Engineering Best Practices, and more specifically, the practices related to casing integrity.
- Responsible to implement on daily work objectives, housekeeping, safety, health, environmental and security, Active participation on daily toolbox meetings and regular, reported safety meetings, Identify and implement corrective and optimization actions by the continuous surveillance of wells and equipment to ensure reliable, efficient and safe operational conditions, Function as Equipment Care Technician, and routinely use Maintenance skills in performing simple maintenance activities.
- Report when the alarm, emergency or emergency shutdown system is out of service, Provide detailed, clear and accurate information when changing shift, to guarantee that unit conditions are updated and ensure operations continuity, Coordinate, control and monitor maintenance jobs according with the corrective, predictive and preventive planning, Report continuously in the log book all relevant operational events and abnormal situations or deviation occurred in the work area, equipment or personnel, Take samples of products for laboratory analysis and execute field laboratory tests.
- Active participation on emergency response activities, Report incidents internally and escalate awareness as per the Incident Reporting Guidelines, Ensure that Operations Shift Supervisor is informed and consulted about operations activities, Ensure good communication across the work team so that issues / actions can be adequately addressed, Provide the basic facts concerning well producing problems, current production rates, and current condition of the well.
- Ensure that the well problem diagnostics are thorough and complete before requesting Well Work intervention operations, Ensure that the wellhead and well surface equipment are maintained and are in good working order prior to Wellwork operations taking over responsibility for the well for intervention operations, Provide assistance and support to the ongoing Well work operations as needed.
Successful candidates will have:- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required along with the ability to effectively interface with multiple functions including WellWork, SSE and Reservoir Engineering and Maintanence. Initiative, a continuos improvement mentality and a strong desire to succeed are other attributes required to be successful in this role.
- The candidate must have a strong safety attitude and the ability to inflence others in the area of safety.
- Completed secondary education and worked previously as a Field Technician, Good communications (oral & written), High standard of Safety, Health, Environment aptitude and cultivates the same in others, Understanding of pipeline operations
- Understanding of safety and operations management tools and processes, Understanding of Emergency Preparedness Procedures, Understanding of Project Philosophy and Design Specifications.
- Understanding of relevant regulations, Understanding of relevant commercial agreements.
