Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Senior Civil Engineer in the Engineering consulting industry in Calgary, Alberta.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Civil Engineer to lead mining, energy, and infrastructure projects involving site preparation, bulk earthworks, grading, drainage, roads, and paving. You'll oversee civil project delivery from concept to completion, providing technical leadership, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring quality through design reviews, calculations, and contract document QA/QC. A typical day:

Lead civil engineering projects for mining, energy, infrastructure, and heavy industrial facilities from design through completion.
Perform civil design activities related to site preparation, grading, drainage, roads, paving, and bulk earthworks.
Oversee the design of roads, plant roads, and site drainage systems.
Provide technical leadership and discipline oversight for assigned project scopes.
Coordinate and collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Review and approve design calculations, drawings, and technical deliverables.
Conduct QA/QC reviews of engineering calculations, contract documents, and design packages.
Ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance through drawing checks, design verification, and engineering best practices.

Successful candidates will have:

Civil Engineering degree from a recognized engineering program; P.Eng. designation in Alberta preferred.
15+ years of experience in mining, energy, infrastructure, or other heavy industrial project environments
Proven experience leading and managing civil engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams.
Strong project management background on mid- to large-scale projects; PMP designation is an asset.
Expertise in site grading, bulk earthworks, drainage systems, stormwater management, and road design.
Experience with sanitary sewer design, hydrology, hydraulics, and earth structure engineering.
Thorough understanding of civil engineering design processes and proficiency with civil design software.
Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively within collaborative project teams.
