Project Procurement Specialist Role Open Now! - Contract Opportunity
Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Project Procurement Specialist in the Energy Sector in Calgary, Alberta.
Step into a pivotal position where procurement is more than buying—it’s about shaping project success. As a Project Procurement Specialist, you’ll sit at the heart of complex capital and operational projects, partnering with cross-functional teams to design smart sourcing strategies, mitigate risk, and deliver measurable value. From early planning to final closeout, you’ll influence outcomes, drive negotiations, and ensure every contract supports schedule, cost, and performance goals.
A typical day:

Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with project scope, budget, schedule, and risk
Lead sourcing activities including RFx, bid evaluations, negotiations, and contract awards
Structure and support commercial agreements across EPC, equipment, construction, and services
Advise on and implement appropriate contracting and compensation models
Identify and mitigate risks related to scope gaps, interfaces, schedule, and commercial exposure
Manage procurement of major equipment and long-lead items including supplier performance and delivery
Partner with legal and project teams to ensure contracts effectively allocate and manage risk
Monitor contract execution, supplier performance, change orders, claims, and project closeout

Successful candidates will have:

15+ years of experience in project procurement within complex environments
Strong expertise in EPC, equipment supply, and services contracting
Proven ability to develop and execute procurement strategies for major projects
Advanced negotiation skills with a track record of successful outcomes
Deep understanding of commercial models (lump sum, T&M, hybrid structures)
Ability to identify and manage commercial, schedule, and interface risks
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
Experience using procurement systems such as SAP, Ariba, or similar

Experience working within highly regulated environments or with compliance-driven procurement practices
