Project Controls Advisor II
Calgary, AB
Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Project Controls Advisor II in the Oil and Gas Sector in Calgary, Alberta. The Project Advisor is an expert in Project Controls, Planning and Scheduling and Project Services and provides their expertise to projects as needed, supports the Project Controls Supervisor in updating tools and processes; assists with training and mentoring of less experienced group members. Total rewards:- $87.00 hourly
- 12 Months of contract position
- 5 days on / 2 days off
A typical day:- Responsible for the coordination of the project cost control activities, including compliance with client policies and procedures, development and maintenance of controls systems to support contracting strategies, and contract administration.
- Possesses the capability and experience to develop Project Controls Plans.
- Possesses the capability and experience to oversee development of Project Class 3 Cost Estimate.
- Possesses the capability to independently draft high quality Appropriation Request packages, project procedures, and Decision Support (White Paper) documents.
Successful candidates will have:- Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Construction Management.
- Experience in Project Services, Project Controls and Planning, Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Multiple international project assignments, Willing to travel to required project sites (overseas or domestic) and work in a team environment.
- Knowledgeable with project management best practices framework and key work processes, Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Strong organizational, business, communication, and interpersonal skills, Strong influencing, consulting, mentoring, analytical and computing skills.
- Competent or Expert proficiency in several Project Management skills (e.g. EMCAPS (ExxonMobil Capital Project Management System), project controls, execution planning, contracting strategy, contract administration, cost estimating, planning & scheduling).
- Develops and maintains the owner schedule basis for assigned scope, integrates contractor schedules, analyzes critical path/float/interfaces, supports schedule reserve and recovery analysis, and produces schedule/progress insight.
- Owns detailed cost, forecast, progress, change and reporting analysis for assigned scopes; challenges contractor inputs; reconciles WBS/CBS/AFE data; and identifies trends and supports corrective actions. The PCE also manages bookings, WIP/Accruals, commitments, audit trails and financial closeout interfaces for the assigned scope.
