Logistics First Line Supervisor II

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Logistics First Line Supervisor II in the Oil and Gas Sector in Calgary, Alberta.
The Supply Chain Operations Supervisor is accountable for the day-to-day execution of material flow, logistics, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations across internal facilities and third-party vendors. The role ensures materials move accurately, compliantly, and on time from supplier through receiving, storage, manufacturing, and outbound shipment, serving as the execution owner for operational supply-chain performance.

  • 5 days on / 2 days off

A typical day:
  • Receiving & Material Control: Lead the receipt and verification of raw materials, machined components, and third-party services, ensuring alignment with purchase orders, engineering drawings, and specifications, Ensure real-time and accurate communication of receipts for ERP system entry (e.g., Fishbowl), supporting inventory accuracy and traceability.
  • Perform detailed inspections for damage, corrosion, or non-conformance; initiate and coordinate NCR processes with QA/QC, Drive best practices in inventory control, storage, and material handling within a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Logistics & Freight Execution: Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics for both domestic and international orders as well as transfers between 3rd party shops, Ensure all products are field-ready, including application of corrosion protection, thread protectors, and customer-specific packaging requirements prior to shipping.
  • Prepare and validate complete shipping documentation (packing slip, BoL, commercial invoice, certificate of origin, export declarations, etc), Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, export controls, and trade compliance requirements, Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to optimize shipping timelines and cost efficiency.
  • Verify shipment accuracy against work orders, serial numbers, and customer delivery specifications, Own dock scheduling and warehouse/yard coordination, Maintain shipment visibility and communicate ETAs to stakeholders, Track carrier performance and publish results, Resolve freight-related purchase to pay issues.
  • Inventory Control & Warehouse Execution: Optimize inventory utilization and storage locations to support efficient flow, Support executing cycle counting and maintain inventory accuracy, Assess disposition, process returns to stock, and scrap material when approved, Ensure inventory write-offs and adjustments within approval thresholds are processed in the ERP (ie Fishbowl).
  • Quality, Compliance & Traceability: Maintain full material traceability from receipt through final shipment, ensuring alignment with customer and regulatory requirements, Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and complete documentation and records, Enforce adherence to company quality standards and customer-specific requirements, Identify and implement process improvements and procedures to enhance traceability, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Safety & Equipment Operation: Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements, including safe handling of hazardous materials, Promote a culture of safety and accountability within the shipping/receiving function (safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and lifting devices in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards) Leadership & Continuous Improvement :Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior shipping/receiving personnel, Act as a point of escalation for complex shipping, receiving, or documentation issues, Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Manufacturing and Quality teams to improve workflow and communication, Contribute to the development and standardization of procedures, templates, and best practices.

Successful candidates will have:
  • Experience with Canadian and U.S. export regulations and international trade compliance, Lean or continuous improvement experience, Prior experience in a lead or senior-level role.

  • 7+ years of experience in shipping/receiving within a manufacturing or oil & gas environment, preferably with downhole tools or precision components, Strong experience with international shipping, customs documentation, and export compliance.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Fishbowl, SAP, Oracle, or similar), Solid understanding of material traceability, quality documentation, and audit requirements, Certification or experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate across departments and external partners.
