Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Instrumentation & Controls Engineer in the power & automation solutions industry in Calgary, Alberta.
The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer will be responsible to complete layout of I&C engineering drawings. This includes preparing wiring diagrams, equipment and instrument location plans, installation details, junction box layouts, network architecture block diagrams, and loop sheets. You will perform drafting using AutoCAD (2D and 3D) or Revit, depending on project requirements, and ensure accuracy through location verification and interference checks using SmartPlant 3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or Revit.
Total rewards:

$120000.00 - $145000.00 annually

A typical day:

Complete layout of I&C related engineering drawings
Catalog instrumentation information using design software for reporting purposes
Provide job-specific instrument installation details and maintain documentation for vendor and other discipline drawings
Provide information on interface requirements such as equipment spacing, cable numbering, instrument numbering, control philosophy, flow element requirements.
Provide material take-offs for bulk commodities from completed engineering documents
Support Construction and Start-Up personnel on-site or remotely
Maintain project files of previous revisions in line with ISO 9001 policies
PLC Programming

Successful candidates will have:

8 + years of experience as an Instrument and Controls Designer
Proficiency in Instrumentation, PLC programming, and Instrumentation controls
Degree in Instrumentation / Industrial Automation or equivalent from a qualified technical school
SmartPlant Software Suite (SPI, SPPID, SP3D). Strong knowledge of AutoCAD drafting standards including Paper Space / Model Space.
Ability to program Rockwell Allen Bradley
Ability to travel up to 10% to client sites
