Instrumentation & Controls Designer

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Instrumentation & Controls Designer in the power & automation solutions industry in Calgary, Alberta.
The Instrumentation & Controls Designer will be responsible for the entire I&C scope of projects of various sizes across diverse industries.
Total rewards:

$120000.00 - $145000.00 annually

A typical day:

Create I&C design documents including system architectures, network diagrams, I/O wiring diagrams, cable diagrams, control narratives etc.
Prepare instrumentation datasheets and perform technical bid evaluations
Redline, review and approve project drawings and documents to ensure they meet company and client specifications
Perform and support FAT (factory acceptance test), IO checkout, loop tests, functional tests, and SAT (site acceptance test)
PLC Programming

Successful candidates will have:

7 + years of experience working as an Instrument and Controls Engineer in heavy industrial environments such as oil & gas, mining, petrochemical, or similar industries
Technical diploma or engineering degree in a relevant field (e.g. Electrical, electronics, computer science)
Strong understanding of the different layers of the OSI and TCP/IP models
Proficient using AutoCAD
Ability to program Rockwell Allen Bradley
Hands-on network troubleshooting preferred
Ability to travel up to 10% to client sites
