Lead Complex Industrial Projects as a Senior or Principal Instrumentation & Controls Engineer
Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for an Instrumentation and Control Engineer in the Engineering sector in Calgary, Alberta.
Are you an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer looking to take ownership of complex industrial projects and provide technical leadership? Join a multidisciplinary engineering environment where you'll lead I&C design and execution activities, mentor engineering teams, collaborate with clients and stakeholders, and support projects from concept and FEED through construction and commissioning. This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering innovative solutions across major industrial facilities and infrastructure projects.

Total rewards:
  • $150000.00 - $205000.00 annually
  • Earn a competitive salary of approximately $150,000 to $205,000 based on experience and technical expertise
  • Work on large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects across multiple sectors

Responsibilities:
  • Lead instrumentation and control engineering activities across assigned projects
  • Deliver technical solutions that meet project, client, regulatory, and quality requirements
  • Coordinate I&C activities with multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance
  • Support procurement, construction, commissioning, turnaround, and operational activities
  • Participate in project planning, progress tracking, and change management processes
  • Identify and resolve technical risks, issues, and design discrepancies
  • Mentor engineers and designers while providing technical leadership on complex scopes

Requirements:
  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline
  • Maintain current Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration with APEGA
  • Demonstrate progressive experience in instrumentation and control engineering on industrial projects
  • Develop and review I&C deliverables including P&IDs, loop drawings, specifications, and control narratives
  • Apply expertise in instrumentation selection for flow, pressure, temperature, and level measurement systems
  • Participate in HAZOP and LOPA reviews and integrate outcomes into engineering designs
  • Utilize engineering systems, workflows, and project execution processes effectively
  • Communicate effectively while providing technical guidance and mentorship to project teams
