ENGINEERING LEAD – MINE & TAILINGS (PROJECTS)

Agilus is recruiting for a ENGINEERING LEAD – MINE & TAILINGS (PROJECTS) in the Oil and Gas Sector in Calgary, Alberta.
The Engineering Lead – Mine & Tailings (M&T) provides end-to-end engineering leadership across project stages (e.g. DBM, FEED, Detailed Engineering). This role is a technical integrator within Mine and Tailings Projects, ensuring designs are safe, compliant, executable, constructible, operable, maintainable, and aligned with lifecycle value. The Engineering Lead connects internal stakeholders, engineering providers, and specialty contractors, ensuring that the technical scope is fully defined, reviewed, verified, and handed over as a complete, high-quality asset.
Total rewards:

$80.00 - $105.00 hourly
Pay Rate Range T4 $80 - $90/hr and IC Max $95 - $105/hr
1 year contract
Position will be Calgary office based, M-F 40 hrs/week - All days in office, occasional site travel as required

A typical day:

- Provide technical leadership and decision-making authority across all project phases.
- Develops and updates the Engineering Management Plan (EMP).
- Coordinate engineering interfaces across Operations, Reliability, Geotech, Process, Maintenance, Construction, SCM, and Document Control.
- Provide multi-discipline integration for tailings pipelines, deposition systems, pump systems, water/tailing transfer, dykes, ponds, water management, and dewatering systems.
- Lead Process Safety Plans, PSI, PHAs, hazard reviews, ensuring process safety actions are closed and incorporated.
- Lead 30/60/90% model reviews and constructability/operability reviews.
- Ensure all engineering deliverables meet corporate standards, regulations, and authentication requirements.
- Own and steward the Engineering Deliverables List.

Successful candidates will have:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; P.Eng
- Band 13: ~7–10 years experience. - Band 14: 12+ years with leadership on complex scopes.
- Strong knowledge of engineering governance and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong Mining and Tailings engineering experience.
