Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Electrical Design Lead in the industrial sector in Calgary, Alberta.
Are you a Professional Engineer who enjoys leading technical design, mentoring team members, and ensuring every drawing meets the highest standards of quality and compliance? Our client, a growing manufacturer of custom-engineered electrical enclosures and power distribution solutions, is seeking an Electrical Design Lead to oversee electrical design activities for low and medium voltage products manufactured on-site. This is an opportunity to become the technical authority for the electrical team while helping drive innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

Lead the review, approval, and continuous improvement of electrical drawings and design documentation
Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, cable schedules, and assembly documentation
Perform power system studies including short circuit, coordination, and arc flash analysis using ETAP or SKM
Mentor electrical designers, provide technical guidance, and support design quality across projects
Specify electrical components and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements
Support production teams through design reviews, troubleshooting, quality initiatives, and occasional site visits

Requirements:

Hold a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and be eligible to seal electrical design documents in Alberta
Possess at least 5 years of electrical engineering experience within power distribution, switchgear, control panels, or related industries
Demonstrate strong knowledge of CSA standards, IEEE standards, and the Canadian Electrical Code
Maintain proficiency with ETAP or SKM software for power system analysis
Exhibit strong attention to detail and the ability to act as the technical authority for electrical designs
Communicate effectively while collaborating with designers, production teams, customers, and project stakeholders
