Data Engineer

Agilus is recruiting for a Data Engineer in the Real-Estate in Calgary, Alberta.
responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining corporate Azure SQL and Azure Data Factory data pipelines and database objects, ensuring optimized data integration and accuracy of all related data assets. The incumbent will be experienced in the areas of data warehousing, data modelling, data pipeline and data mart development, as well as data extraction methodologies.

A typical day:
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Synapse, Notebooks).
  • Implement and manage Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) within OneLake.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures for transformation and reporting.
  • Build Python-based data workflows for automation and data processing.
  • Support CI/CD deployments using Azure DevOps or Fabric deployment pipelines
  • Partner with BI, data science, and business teams to deliver trusted datasets (DataMarts, Facts, Dimensions).

Successful candidates will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering roles.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Fabric, including Data Factory, OneLake, Synapse, and Notebooks.
  • Deep understanding of Lakehouse architecture and Medallion frameworks.
  • Advanced SQL skills (optimization, stored procedures, data modeling).
  • Strong Python skills for data transformation and automation.
