Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Cybersecurity Manager in the oil and gas sector in a hybrid work environment in Calgary, Alberta.

A typical day:

Provide cybersecurity leadership and guidance to support business and project objectives.
Partner with cross-functional teams to assess, implement, and maintain effective security controls.
Ensure solutions comply with cybersecurity standards while balancing operational needs.
Evaluate risks, identify gaps or exceptions, and recommend improvements to strengthen security.
Promote Zero Trust and security architecture best practices through stakeholder collaboration, governance support, and ongoing industry research.

Successful candidates will have:

Knowledge of, or hands-on experience with security technologies of the following functions: NGFW, VPN, IPS/IDS, vulnerability management, access management, SIEM, endpoint security, threat intelligence, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), offensive security, penetration testing, red & purple teaming
10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, security architecture, or a related technical discipline.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices, including risk management, security controls, cloud security, and governance.
Industry recognized certifications such as CISSP, GCIP, GICSP, CSSA, CCSP, Azure/AWS security, TOGAF or other industry recognized cybersecurity certification preferred
Proven ability to influence stakeholders, collaborate across teams, and communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Contract until December 15th with chance of extension
Location: downtown Calgary
Hybrid work model, 3 days a week in-office
Full time hours Monday to Friday
