Contract Senior Internal Communications Advisor

Agilus is recruiting for a Contract Senior Internal Communications Advisor in the energy and natural resources in Calgary, Alberta.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Communications, the Senior Advisor, Health & Safety Communications provides strategic leadership and trusted advisory support to the Health & Safety team. This role develops and delivers integrated communications that reinforce safety as a core value, translating complex technical and regulatory information into clear, engaging and impactful messaging that supports employees, contractors, communities and the environment.
Total rewards:

$60.00 - $80.00 hourly
Competitive base salary aligned to experience and market benchmarks

A typical day:

Develop and implement integrated Health & Safety communications strategies and campaigns
Provide strategic communications counsel to Health & Safety leaders and subject matter experts
Lead communications supporting safety culture, behaviours and performance
Translate complex technical, regulatory and operational information into clear messaging
Support regulatory, compliance and mandatory safety communications
Partner with internal and external communications teams to align messaging
Plan and deliver Health & Safety town halls, events and leadership communications
Measure communication effectiveness and apply insights to improve outcomes

Successful candidates will have:

Hold a degree in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field
Bring 8–10 years of experience in communications or public relations roles
Demonstrate experience supporting Health & Safety or operational functions
Possess strong writing, editing and verbal communication skills
Show ability to advise and influence senior leaders
Understand safety culture, risk and regulatory environments
Have experience within the energy or industrial sector
Apply strong judgement, collaboration and stakeholder management skills
