Contract Senior D&IT Project Manager

Agilus is recruiting for a Contract Senior D&IT Project Manager in the oil & gas sector in Calgary, Alberta. The Senior D&IT Project Manager will provide leadership in coordinating D&IT dependencies and deliverables, driving collaboration between D&IT and business units, and ensuring project milestones are met on time, on budget and within scope. This role requires a proactive, solution-oriented approach, with the ability to translate complex business needs into technical solutions that advance the digital transformation agenda. Total rewards:- $88.00 - $107.00 hourly
- 12 Months of contract position
A typical day:- Leadership & Collaboration: Lead collaboration efforts between D&IT and senior business leaders. Foster strong relationships across the organization to ensure seamless execution of digital initiatives.
- Strategic Roadmap Development: Shape and refine the project roadmap by aligning it with the broader D&IT technical strategies. Identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure project success.
- D&IT Coordination: Act as the single point of accountability for D&IT-related activities. Coordinate efforts across multiple D&IT teams, driving urgency in execution and removing obstacles to keep projects on track.
- Business-Technical Alignment: Understand the business objectives of translate these into clear, actionable work packages for D&IT teams. Ensure solutions are feasible, scalable, and sustainable within the technology infrastructure.
- Innovation Partnership: Develop and sustain a fast-paced R&D and innovation collaboration between business and D&IT, fostering a forward-thinking, results-oriented environment.
- Demand Prioritization: Balance the competing needs of D&IT projects, ensuring the effective allocation of resources while maintaining alignment with business priorities, Business-IT Translator: Strong capability to bridge the gap between business goals and technical execution, ensuring mutual understanding and alignment across all project teams, Change Management: Experienced in leading change within large-scale digital programs, with the ability to bring key stakeholders along in the transformation journey.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting: Monitor program KPIs and provide regular updates to leadership. Use data-driven insights to inform decisions and ensure the program stays aligned with key success metrics, Strategic Thinking: Adept at developing strategic visions, roadmaps, and detailed execution plans, with the ability to pivot and adapt as required by evolving business needs, Innovation & Problem Solving: A creative thinker who is comfortable navigating ambiguity. Focused on driving progress through innovative solutions and a collaborative mindset.
- Pressure Resilience: Demonstrated ability to thrive under pressure, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and compelling manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proficient in delivering executive-level presentations and reports.
Successful candidates will have:- Education: Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 12 to 15 years in IT, with substantial experience in leadership roles managing large-scale digital transformation projects, including direct experience with technology implementations.
- Project Management Expertise: Proven track record of leading multi-year, high-budget projects from inception through to successful completion. Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of digital technologies, enterprise systems, and IT infrastructure. Previous experience with ERP systems, cloud technologies, and data governance initiatives is required.
- Certification: PMP certification is an asset. Additional certifications in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) or IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) are highly advantageous.
- Negotiation & Communication: Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Strategic Alignment: Demonstrated experience in aligning project deliverables with broader organizational strategies, ensuring that digital initiatives are fully integrated into the company’s long-term goals.
