Senior Project Planner / Scheduler – Lead Integrated EPC Project Scheduling for Major Capital Energy Projects
Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Contract Project Planner / Scheduler in the Energy, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Engineering & Construction in Calgary, Alberta.
We are seeking an experienced Project Planner / Scheduler to support major capital projects and operating assets within a complex industrial environment. This position is responsible for developing, integrating, and maintaining Level I–IV project schedules, providing schedule analysis and forecasting, and ensuring consistent planning standards across all project phases. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving schedule performance, risk identification, and project execution excellence.

Total rewards:
  • $85.00 - $105.00 hourly
  • Work on large-scale capital projects within the energy industry
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project, engineering, and construction teams
  • Gain exposure to all phases of project execution from planning through commissioning
  • Contribute to planning and scheduling standardization initiatives
  • Support high-profile projects with significant business impact
  • Work from a Calgary-based office environment, Monday to Friday
  • Initial 12-month contract with potential extension opportunities
  • Preferred rates for benefit coverage available

A typical day:
  • Develop and maintain integrated Level I–IV project schedules
  • Integrate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning schedules
  • Perform critical path, variance, and schedule risk analysis
  • Conduct schedule forecasting and recovery scenario assessments
  • Conduct schedule forecasting and recovery scenario assessments
  • Manage schedule changes through established project controls processes
  • Prepare schedule reports, KPIs, resource histograms, and progress analyses
  • Support continuous improvement of planning procedures, templates, and standards

Successful candidates will have:
  • Demonstrate 10+ years of project scheduling experience on major capital projects
  • Possess advanced expertise using Primavera P6
  • Apply strong knowledge of EPC project execution and work breakdown structures
  • Understand project controls, forecasting, change management, and cost integration
  • Perform schedule health checks, resource loading, and manpower forecasting
  • Utilize schedule risk analysis tools such as Primavera Risk Analysis, Safran, or equivalent
  • Bring industrial project experience within oil & gas, petrochemical, or energy sectors
  • Hold a degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
