Contract IT Data Analyst

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Contract IT Data Analyst in the Oil and Gas Sector in Calgary, Alberta.
Focus on using data and automation to solve business problems and improve efficiency within our organization's IT/OT systems. Collect, clean, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and create actionable insights, then communicate these findings to stakeholders to inform decision-making and drive improvements.
Total rewards:

$68.00 - $80.00 hourly
One year contract position
onsite position

A typical day:

Data Collection and Management (ETL):Gathering data from various sources, including databases, systems, and potentially external sources. Developing and maintaining data collection and storage systems. Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and quality.
Data Analysis and Interpretation: Applying statistical techniques and tools to analyze data. Identifying trends, patterns, and correlations within the data. Developing data models to support analysis and predictions.
Communication and Reporting: Creating visualizations, reports, dashboards, and write-back dashboards. Communicating insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences. Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into data-driven solutions.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Empowered to innovate and learn skills to incorporate the use of new technologies to solve difficult business problems. Troubleshoot and identify optimization opportunities.

Successful candidates will have:

Domain Knowledge: Understanding of the upstream oil & gas industry, specifically Process Data, SCADA, Field Data Capture, SAP.
5+ years experience in a related role
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, competency in Python, Power BI, and experience in data modeling and processing techniques.
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical abilities.
Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Technical Skills: Experience with Databricks, PI Data Historian, MS SQL Server, other data visualization tools, REST API programming.
Communication Skills: Ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex information, including visualizations and reports to diverse audiences.
