Contract Formation Specialist Role Open Now!Agilus is recruiting for a Contract Formation Specialist in the oil & gas industry in Calgary, Alberta. This is a high-impact contract formation role supporting large-scale Oilsands major projects. You will be at the center of complex commercial agreements—shaping strategy, leading negotiations, and ensuring contracts are sound, compliant, and built to stand up in demanding industrial environments. A typical day:- Lead the full end-to-end tendering and contract formation lifecycle from RFx through award
- Develop and manage solicitation packages, bidder clarifications, evaluations, and recommendations
- Drive commercial negotiations, deviations, and exception resolution
- Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Operations to align scope and risk
- Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks proactively
- Ensure compliance with internal governance, policies, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain complete, auditable contract records in contract management systems
- Contribute to continuous improvement of templates, playbooks, and contracting best practices
Successful candidates will have:- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Legal Studies, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in contract formation, procurement, or commercial contracting
- Strong working knowledge of contract law and commercial terms
- Proven experience leading negotiations on complex, high-value agreements
- Ability to influence stakeholders across technical and commercial functions
- Exceptional attention to detail and risk awareness
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in large, asset-intensive or industrial project environments
