Contract Advisor
Calgary, AB
Agilus is recruiting for a Contract Advisor in the oil & gas sector in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, Conventional Operations, the incumbent in this position will provide procurement expertise and support to Conventional Business Unit managing all capital project related pre-award and post award procurement activities. This Role will support all Projects requirements of services and equipment, for the lifecycle of the contracts within the portfolio. This includes the development of the sourcing strategy in consultation with various stakeholders, the execution of the agreed strategy, and the post-award performance management of the contracts. Total rewards:- $70.00 - $80.00 hourly
- 12 Months contract position
- Mon to Fri 8 hours a day
A typical day:- Execute procurement best practices for sourcing activities, ensuring these practices are in accordance with COIMS, Procurement Policy, and all relevant regulations, Develop Project specific Contracting Strategies, Execution Plans, and Contract Administration Plans.
- Manage scope specific pre-award procurement matters including contract strategies, pre-qualifications, bid evaluations, negotiations, award, and contract formation, Manage post award contract management including contract changes, dispute resolution, claims management, and close-outs.
- Ensure adherence by the Projects team and contractors to business processes, procedures, and goals, as well as compliance plans, contract terms, Mitigate residual commercial risk through proactive scope and contract management.
- Ensure all Procurement documentation is stored in the appropriate Contract Management Systems in accordance with the Procurement Information Plan, Interface with project controls on cost, performance, progress assessment, payments, reporting, and trends to support post award contract management.
- Liaise and consult with subject matter experts (SMEs) from Legal, Risk Management, HSE, QA/QC, etc. in support of pre and post award commercial activities. Provide guidance and peer assistance to other team members.
- Liaise with the business, market intelligence team and stakeholders to identify market risks or opportunities, Support COIMS E11 compliance. Compile data to assist in periodic reviews of supplier performance (Performance Scorecards/Metrics) against established KPIs, Perform other duties as assigned.
Successful candidates will have:- Build, develop and execute a strategy, structure, governance, sourcing plan and procurement process for services and materials within the assigned portfolio, Lead implementation of sourcing strategies for projects in alignment with wide objectives for Safety, Cost, Schedule and Quality, Perform market analysis for project portfolios and develop price evolution forecasts.
- Lead sourcing, contracting, procurement and supplier management for capital projects portfolio, Achieve cost reduction targets on external goods and schedule for the portfolio and in support of project objectives, Develop and deploy, in conjunction with various execution teams, the right contracting strategy to meet execution plans while maximizing sustainable competitive advantage in cost, cash and operational performance.
- Design and lead multi-level complex negotiation strategies with key vendors, Achieve improved vendor safety performance targets by integrating Safety Commitments, strong vendor qualification and performance feedback into the sourcing processes, Drive cost leadership and project sourcing excellence cross-functionally to maximize synergies across multiple execution teams.
- Demonstrate and deploy cross-industry best practices and innovations to maintain competitive advantage and positioning, Adhere to and cascade strong ethical principles and standards in applying all aspects of internal and external sourcing.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to identify and drive implementation of metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing activities and efficiencies.
- Internal: Conventional Projects, Category Management, SCM Shared Services, Community and Indigenous Affairs, Legal, audit, and other CVE internal teams as required.
