Agilus is recruiting for a Building Coordinator in the Real Estate Industry in Calgary, Alberta.
As a Building Operator, you’ll be the friendly face tenants rely on, the steady hand keeping buildings running smoothly, and the eyes and ears ensuring every site is safe, efficient, and well-maintained. With a blend of hands-on work, tenant service, inspections, and contractor coordination, this role gives you autonomy, variety, and a chance to truly own your portfolio.

A typical day:
  • Serve as a tenant-facing contact; conduct proactive check-ins and respond to complaints.
  • Perform minor repairs when appropriate and keep communication clear with tenants, owners, and contractors.
  • Spend ~4 hours daily at the primary downtown building for rounds, quick fixes, and PM.Cover 12 additional sites: indoor/outdoor checks, minor maintenance, and system observations.
  • Obtain/manage quotes, estimates, invoices; maintain activity logs, email documentation, and records; support updates to Calgary and Vancouver leadership.
  • Inspect and test environmental, safety, and security systems; maintain tools/supplies per site.
  • Perform light cleaning/custodial and outdoor litter collection as required.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call emergency response.
  • Triage issues, dispatch trades, schedule work, and follow through to completion.

Successful candidates will have:
  • 3+ years in building operations, facilities coordination, or property services within commercial real estate.
  • Mechanical aptitude with confidence handling minor PM/repairs (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
  • Comfortable with working at heights (up to 8 stories), ladders, and roof-level inspections, following safety standards.
  • Strong communication and customer service—tenant-facing and professional.
  • Triage and trade selection skills; ability to manage and coordinate contractors end-to-end.
  • Excellent organization and documentation: activity logs, email follow-through, service records.
  • Valid Class 5 license, clean driving record, bondable; comfortable with mobile work and light exterior/custodial tasks.
  • Nice-to-haves: HVAC/DDC/boilers, BAS training, Class 5 Power Engineering, BOMI/BOMA, WHMIS/TDG/Confined Space/Fall Arrest.
