Lead a Dynamic Catering & Events Team – General Manager Opportunity in Victoria!
Agilus is recruiting for a General Manager in the Catering/Events industry in Victoria, British Columbia.
Join a thriving catering and events organization as a hands-on General Manager. You’ll lead daily operations, inspire a team of 15+ staff, and deliver exceptional guest experiences while driving growth and profitability. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and values cultural connection and service excellence.
Total rewards:

$75000.00 annually
Performance-based bonus potential: $7,500–$9,000 annually
Gratuities: $4,500–$15,000 annually
Extended health and dental benefits (employer-paid with small deductibles)
3 weeks vacation (increasing to 4 weeks after year 2–3)
Paid cultural leave and statutory holidays
Paid holiday closure at Christmas (1–2 weeks)

A typical day:

Oversee day-to-day catering and event operations
Actively participate in service and front-of-house leadership
Manage budgets, inventory, and labour costs
Lead staff training and development programs
Maintain high standards for hospitality and cultural awareness
Drive marketing initiatives and client engagement
Ensure facility cleanliness and service excellence
Represent the brand at community and networking events

Successful candidates will have:

Minimum 5 years of management experience in hospitality or event services
Strong leadership and communication skills
Proven ability to manage budgets and operational plans
Hands-on approach with a focus on guest experience
Serving It Right and FoodSafe certifications
Ability to work flexible hours (40–50 hrs/week during peak periods)
Experience with Indigenous organizations or commitment to reconciliation is an asset
Self-motivated and results-driven
