Lead Estimator Opportunity – Drive High-Impact Projects in Oil & Gas Construction
Agilus is recruiting for a Lead Estimator in the Oil and Gas industry in Calgary, Alberta.
Are you a seasoned estimator with a passion for precision and leadership? Join a dynamic project services team where you’ll lead the development of multidiscipline estimates for major oil & gas construction and fabrication projects. This role offers autonomy, stakeholder engagement, and the chance to mentor junior staff.
Responsibilities:

Lead development of estimates across engineering, fabrication, procurement, and construction
Review scope, specifications, and drawings to define estimate content
Perform material take-offs and pricing for equipment and sub-trades
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
Develop cost-loaded project schedules
Present estimates to internal and external stakeholders
Identify strategies for competitive bidding
Mentor and guide junior estimating staff

Requirements:

15+ years of experience in estimating roles
University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Technical/Trades diploma
Expert-level proficiency in MS Excel and strong MS Office skills
Advanced knowledge of cost estimating methodologies and industry guidelines (CIQS, AACE)
Experience with fabrication, construction practices, and project scheduling
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
Prior oil & gas construction and manufacturing experience preferred
