Senior Payroll Analyst role open!Agilus is recruiting for a Sr. Payroll Analyst in the oil & gas industry in Calgary, Alberta. This is your opportunity to take the lead in transforming payroll operations across Canada and the U.S. As a Senior Payroll Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in streamlining workflows, enhancing system integrations, and ensuring compliance in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This full-time, permanent role is based in Calgary and offers the chance to make a lasting impact. Responsibilities:- Drive payroll process improvements and automation to reduce manual work and increase accuracy.
- Collaborate with IT and HR to implement system enhancements and ensure seamless data flow.
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing across multiple pay cycles in Canada and the U.S.
- Maintain compliance with federal, provincial, and state legislation, as well as internal policies.
- Act as a subject matter expert for complex payroll inquiries and legislative interpretations.
- Validate time entries and maintain accurate pay codes, schedules, and GL accounts.
- Support year-end reconciliations, filings, audits, and bonus/tax programs.
- Provide backup coverage during peak periods and contribute to payroll-related reporting and analysis.
You bring:- 9+ years of progressive experience in payroll operations, with a strong understanding of Canadian and U.S. legislation.
- Certification in Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) is an asset.
- Expertise in enterprise HRIS/payroll systems such as SuccessFactors, ADP, or similar platforms.
- Proven ability to lead system implementations and optimize payroll processes through technology.
- Advanced Excel skills for reporting, reconciliations, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative working style.
- High attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to thrive under pressure.
