Controls Engineer

Agilus is recruiting for a Controls Engineer in the Automotive industry in Etobicoke, Ontario.
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controls Engineer to join their automation team. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, with strong expertise in Fanuc robot programming and Allen Bradley controls software.
A typical day:

Design, develop, and implement control systems for automated equipment and processes
Program and troubleshoot Fanuc robots, including setup, integration, and optimization
Develop and maintain Allen Bradley PLC programs (RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, etc.)
Configure and integrate HMI systems (FactoryTalk View, PanelView)
Maintain documentation for control systems, including schematics, code, and manuals
Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations

Successful candidates will have:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field
5–10 years of experience in controls engineering or industrial automation
Proficiency in Fanuc robot programming (TP programming, iRVision, handling tools)
Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and related software
Experience with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, etc.)
Familiarity with electrical schematics and control panel design
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
