Planning Technician

Design the future of Windsor! We're looking for a detail-driven Planning Technician to support exciting development projects and make a real impact.
Agilus is recruiting for a Planning Technician in the Engineering Sector in Windsor, Ontario.
Support development projects by drafting plans, conducting assessments, and coordinating applications. Ideal for a detail-oriented technician with AutoCAD skills and planning legislation knowledge.

A typical day:
  • Draft concept plans, site plans, draft plan of subdivisions, and other project-related documentation
  • Support project teams with report writing and documentation
  • Conduct technical assessments and data analysis for land use and development projects
  • Prepare and submit various planning and development applications for site plan approvals, zoning bylaw amendments, and minor variances
  • Liaise with clients, municipalities, and agencies for project coordination
  • Assist the Principal Planner in Lead and facilitating public consultation processes, including community meetings
  • Assist in coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver planning documents and reports
  • Review complex planning and development applications and provide detailed feedback

Successful candidates will have:
  • Graduate of an accredited Planning Technician Program (required)
  • Minimum 2 years of technical planning work experience (required)
  • Membership in the Canadian Association of Certified Planning Technicians (CACPT) - associate membership (required), designation preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D Visualizations, and Presentation Graphics
  • Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and related software
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing documentation
  • Familiarity with Planning and Development processes, Building Legislation, Municipal and Provincial Guidelines, and Standards
  • Thorough understanding of Planning Legislation, Hierarchy of Planning Documents, Ontario’s Planning Act, and Provincial Policy Statement (PPS).
